Elbow Cay is one of the islands of the Abacos, Bahamas. This six-mile-long island is today a resort island with piers for yachts and tourist boats.

The indigenous inhabitants of Elbow Cay were the Lucayan Indians. The early settlers to Elbow Cay were British loyalists who fled the American mainland following the American Revolutionary War and the forming of the United States of America in 1785. They included Wyannie Malone, who left Charleston, South Carolina, along with other British loyalists.

Hope Town
Hope Town is the main settlement on Elbow Cay. Its most distinctive landmark is a 36m (120 ft) lighthouse that is painted with red and white stripes. The lighthouse was built in 1863 to guide ships into town.
