Porvenir is a city in Tierra del Fuego Province, in the Magallanes and Antartica Chilena Region of Chile. It covers 6,982.6 sq km (2,696 sq mi) and has a population of 6,000 people (2012 estimate). It is the southernmost town in Chile, even further south than Punta Arenas.

Porvenir today is a small town. It was established for sheep farming. The port is littered with shipwrecks that prevent large vessels from mooring. Gold and oil are also mined in the vicinity. In addition, tourists often pass through the town, on their way further south. As it is smaller than Punta Arenas, Porvenir is used mostly as a stopover point.
