Puente Alto is the capital of Cordillera Province, in the Santiago Metropolitan Region, in Chile. It covers 88.2 sq km (34.1 sq mi) and has a population of 500,000 people (2012 estimate).
Once a village, Puente Alto has developed that it is now almost contiguous with Santiago, though not totally unified with the capital. It is connected to the rest of Santiago by the Metro Bus and the Santiago Metro.
