Chelsea Piers is a huge complex of four restored historic piers on the west coast of Manhattan, New York City. This is where large passengar ocean liners berth in the early part of the 20th century, and was the destination of the ill-fated Titanic. The piers are located off 11th Avenue, between 17th and 23rd Streets.

Today the piers have been turned into the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex. It includes all types of sports facilities including a health club, a spa, the biggest gymnasium in New York City, two basket ball courts, extreme sports facilities and dance studios.
The Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Center also has a bowling alley, a golf club with a multi-storey range, and two full-sized ice skating rinks.
How to reach the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex
You have to walk a bit if using the subway. Take the C or E train to the 23rd Street subway station. Walk west on W 23rd Street past 3 city blocks until you reach 11th Avenue. Look for the huge blue-colored building (it's blue at time of writing, March 2010) in front of you.
