Built for people with modest income, the houses is an eclectic fusion of the Queen Anne style with Flemish, Elizabethan and classical elements.
The Henderson Place Historic District was recognized by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1966 for its historic value. This led to its listing as a historic district in 1969.
