About Trump World Tower
When Trump World Tower was being planned, many neighbors - among them the late broadcast journalist Walter Cronkite - opposed its construction, deeming it very ugly. This is because its exterior is devoid of any distinguishing features. Nevertheless construction proceeded from 1999, and the building was completed in 2001.
Built at a cost of $300 million, it stands at a height of 861 feet (262 meters). The building was the tallest all-residential tower in the world for a couple of years, until it was surpassed by the 21st Century Tower of Dubai in 2003. It is presently the tallest residential building built by Donald Trump.
