Christmas Yule Log Cake at Eastin Hotel Penang's Christmas & New Year Food Review. (29 November 2017)
The Christmas season has swung into the picture, and Eastin Hotel Penang is getting all dressed up for it. In preparation to usher in the festive season, the hotel has put together a series of buffets, to be held at their flagship Swez Brasserie dining outlet. If you are planning a festive celebration, let me first give you a run down of the meals you can book.
In conjunction with the Christmas season, Eastin Hotel Penang is taking orders for Roasted Turkey from 1 - 26 December, 2017. Orders must be made at least two days in advance. Each bird is priced at RM338nett.

Taste testing Eastin Penang's Christmas & New Year Buffet Spread
What I lovely time, my wife and I had, at Eastin Hotel Penang, meeting up with our friends from print and social media, as we converge on the hotel's main dining outlet, Swez Brasserie, to enjoy trying out the stupendous array of dishes to whet our appetite ahead of Christmas. This Christmas & New Year 2018 Food Review, covers both the Christmas and New Year buffets. The food is spread out all over the large dining hall, with the centrepiece being the Christmas signage hung over stylised candy canes.
Different types of food are clustered into various food stations. There were cold delicacies, hot delicacies, desserts, salads and lots more. Signature items include the authentic Roasted Turkey with Classic Ingredients and Condiments.
Among the dishes that I came across in today's dinner, which you will also get to enjoy during the actual Christmas buffets, included Beef Bruschetta, Assorted Cold Cuts, Seafood Terrine, Brussel Sprout with Turkey Ham and Almond, Fragrant Prawn with Nutmeg Mayo Sauce, Chicken Cordon Bleu with William Potato, Lamb Chop with Creamy Pomegranate Sauce, Ayam Panggang Madu, Poached Garoupa with Fresh Dill and Saffron Butter Sauce, Yorkshire Pudding, Deep Fried Cheese Balls, Salmon Fish Head Curry with Brinjal and Lady's Fingers and Spaghetti Aglio-Olio. The Beef Wellington was in high demand, with any returning for seconds!
As for the desserts, there's of course the Christmas Yule Log, something almost de rigueur for the season, Gingerbread House, Chocolate Truffle Cake, Fresh Fruit Soup with Whipped Cream, Christmas Stollen, Classic Cheesecake, Floating Island with Almond and Caramel, Tiramisu in Cup (one of my favourite things tonight) and Crème Brûlée.
Now let me show you all the food we enjoyed.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
