ESCAPE Waterplay (18 September 2017)


ESCAPE Waterplay (GPS: 5.44944, 100.21409) is a water theme park in Teluk Bahang, Penang. It is one of the components of ESCAPE Theme Park.

ESCAPE Waterplay is located at the foot of the Teluk Bahang Dam. It is the aquatic component of theme park which opened the terrestrial component known as ESCAPE Adventureplay five years before. After a two-month trial run, ESCAPE Waterplay was officially opened by the then Chief Minister of Penang, the Right Honourable Lim Guan Eng, on 16 December, 2017.

ESCAPE Waterplay is located at the foot of the Teluk Bahang Dam and is within sight of the dam. It has several water play areas with slides and twisters of various lengths.

ESCAPE Waterplay is on the Map of Teluk Bahang, Penang

ESCAPE Waterplay during construction

ESCAPE Waterplay is built on a land which is leased from the state government. The area was wasteland leftover from the construction of the Teluk Bahang Dam. To rehabilitate the area, ESCAPE planted over a hundred trees, including salvaging trees that would have otherwise been destroyed.
