Napa Valley Wine Dinner is a wine-appreciation dinner held on 12 December, 2017 at Feringgi Grill, at the Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa. It brought together wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs to taste and enjoy the best of California's Napa Valley wines. The event was made possible by Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd, in conjunction with Treasury Wine Estates and Penfolds, along with Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, of course.
The evening was an opportunity for enthusiasts to become acquainted to the main vineyards of Napa Valley as well as the different types of wines produced there. On hand to provide an interpretation of Napa Valley wines was its wine ambassador, Mr Sam Stephens. Among the well known vineyards include Beringer and Stags' Leap. During this event, diners get to taste various white and red wines, including the Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and the Petite Sirah.
The Wine Dinner was an 8-course meal where the dishes were paired with different Napa Valley wines. Let me show you what we enjoyed, course by course.
First Course: hors-d'œuvre

Thinly Sliced Hokkaido Scallops Green Chili, Season Truffles, Pistachio, Lime and Herbs (12 December 2017)
The scallops are paired with a Chardonnay.
Sterling VCO CA Chardonnay 2015 (12 December 2017)
Third Course: rice
Morel Risotto Carnaroli Rice, Morels cooked in Gravy Sauce and Parmesan (12 December 2017)
The risotto is paired with a Merlot.
Beaulieu Vineyards CA Merlot 2015 (12 December 2017)
Fourth Course: sorbet
Mango Sorbet Pepper, Grapefruit and Gin (12 December 2017)
Fifth Course: main course
Slow Cooked Short Rib Bordelaise with Croutons, Mashed Potato and Red Wine Sauce (12 December 2017)
The main course is paired with a Petite Sirah.

It has been such a memorable dinner. I enjoyed tasting and trying out all the different wines that went with this meal. My wife and I had a tremendous time, and we are most thankful Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, in particular its Director of Communications, Mr Suleiman Tunku Abdul Rahman, for extending the invitation to us.
