Moulins, Allier is a town in the district of Allier, in Auvergne, France. The town on the river Allier covers 8.6 sq km (3 sq mi) and has a population of 20,000 people (2012 estimate).

The present town has a charming, well-preserved old town with many timber-framed houses and other tourist attractions.

Probably the most famous person to come from Moulins is Coco Chanel, who grew up as an orphan in the town before she began her career in the fashion industry.

How to go to Moulins, Allier

You can take the train to Moulins from the Gare de Lyon station in Paris. The journey takes about 2 hours and 25 minutes. By road from Paris, take the A77 expressway heading south, continuing on the N7 highway to reach Moulins.
