Schilthorn is a mountain nin the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. It stands at a height of 2,970 m (9,744 ft). The peak is just above the village of Mürren.
It is possible to go right to the summit of Schilthorn by cable car. The Schilthorn Cable Car operates between Stechelberg and the summit. It comprises a series of cable-car rides. Along the way, it also serves a number of mountain hamlets such as Mürren and Gimmelwald. This cable car system is said to be the longest and most challenging ever built.
On the summit of Schilthorn is a revolving restaurant, called Piz Gloria. There are also walkways with lookout points here, where you can admire the view from the top of the world, so to speak. The restaurant appeared in the 1969 James Bond movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the only one starring George Lazenby as Bond.
