Unterwasser is a small village in St Gallen canton, Switzerland. This mountainous village is surrounded by tall mountains. It comprises wooden chalet houses in the valley. The name Unterwasser, often incorrectly translated to mean "underwater", actually refers to its site between two rivers.
Unterwasser is a small ski resort. It is the home of Swiss ski jumper Simon Ammann when he was growing up. The village has an impressive waterfall as a local attraction. The falls comprise two section the lower falls and the upper falls.
