Klang Valley MRTKlang Valley MRT (5 August, 2017)

Klang Valley MRT is a mass rapid transit system being planned for Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. The first MRT line will run from Sungai Buloh to Kajang, and will interchange with the existing LRT and KTM Komuter lines. The line will be 60 km in length, of which about 10 km will be underground. It will tentatively planned to have 35 stations.

A second line will run from Sungai Buloh through Kepong and Kuala Lumpur to Serdang, while a third line will be a circle line around the city. There will be a station every half kilometer to a kilometer, depending on population and traffic density.

The Klang Valley MRT will be owned by the Government of Malaysia through Syarikat Prasarana Negara, the national infrastructure company under the Ministry of Finance. The MRT will mostly be run by RapidKL, the same company under Syarikat Prasarana Negara which runs the LRT and Rapid Penang buses.

Riding the Klang Valley MRT

The Klang Valley MRT accepts the Touch 'n Go stored value card, which can also be used for riding the Klang Valley LRT and KL Monorail. I use the Touch 'n Go which is on my Tesco Clubcard to take rides.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
