Cititel Penang's Ramadhan Iftar Buffet food review
My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the Ramadhan Iftar Buffet at Cititel Penang's Main Street Café on 19 May, 2017. We were joined by other members of the print and social media and had a wonderful time being hosted by Cititel Penang's Communications Manager, Miss Karen Chee.
To give us a wide overview of the dishes available at the Ramadhan Iftar Buffet, the Main Street Café team has specially prepared a presentation. Among the items available at the buffet include various ulams, kerabu, acar and pasembur. The Penang rojak, also available, is one of the highlights which I look forward to having, each time I visit Main Street Café. The Rojak sauce is very thick and blends beautifully with the assortment of fruits.
Among the main dishes, the highlight has to be the Lamb Kuzi, which is served with Briyani Rice. There is also a wide variety of traditional Malay dishes including daging rendang, lala masak pedas, kobis goreng kunyit, and lots more. We were told that the menu is different on every single day of the week. So, you can actually visit Cititel Penang repeatedly from Monday to Thurday, 12 to 15 June and 19 to 22 June, and find that some dishes are different.
In addition to the main dishes, there's also various appetizers, salads, pickled fruits, soups, and not to forget, there's chicken and beef satay with ketupat. After we were done with the food, we finished off our meal with all sorts of kuih-muih, bubur kacang hijau, cakes and puddings.
My wife and I had a really good time at Cititel Penang's Ramadhan Iftar Buffet, and we are most thankful to the hotel for having invited us.
