106 & 104 Pitt Street, George Town, Penang (15 September 2012)
106 & 104 Pitt Street (GPS: 5.41622, 100.33724) is a three-storey pre-war building in
George Town, Penang. Built in the
Late Arts & Crafts architectural style in 1934, it incorporates a fusion of Moorish and European elements to the design. As was its original intention, it serves as both commercial and residential today.

On the ground floor is an arcade sheltering a five-foot way which wraps around the front of the building along
Pitt Street and
Kampung Kolam. On the first floor is a verandah where a profusion of flowering plants are grown. The stairwell is hidden behind a decorative brickwork that emits some light.
Buildings designed in the Arts & Crafts style age well, and blends in easily into the scenery. As they weather, they become charming addition to streets. Strangely however, there are not many buildings in this style in George Town.
