1st Avenue Mural (22 November 2016)


1st Avenue Mural (GPS: 5.41288, 100.33153) is a piece of (at time of writing, unnamed) street art on the wall of 1st Avenue Mall in George Town, Penang. It faces busy Magazine Road. The mural was painted by 24-year-old Canadian artist Emmanuel Jarus, and was completed on 23 November, 2016. Spanning two storeys of the shopping mall, it is believed to be the tallest and biggest piece of street art in Penang to date.

The mural is based on photographs taken by Jarus of fellow artist Caryn Koh in Batu Caves, when she was taking him sightseeing around Kuala Lumpur.
