Go BackOn this page, I list down the 2019 Penang Ramadan Buffets that I am privileged to preview. Every year, the holy fasting month of Ramadan is a time when various hotels in Penang offer their Ramadan buffet for Iftar, or the breaking of fast. This is the best time of the year to enjoy delicious selections of Muslim fare.
With the approach of Ramadan this year, several hotels and restaurants in Penang have invited my wife and me over to try out their Ramadan buffet. These are the ones we were lucky enough to try.

Cititel Penang
The theme at Cititel is Masakan Citarasa Malaysia Buffet. It will be available Sundays to Thursday from 19 to 23 May and 26 to 30 May, from 6:30pm to 9:45pm. The buffet is priced at RM85 nett adult, RM43 nett child (6-12) and RM60 nett senior citizen (55 and above). In addition to this, Cititel Penang will hold the Riang Ria Buffet Lunch on the 1st and 2nd Day of Hari Raya, from 12:00 noon to 3pm. This is priced at RM63 nett adult, RM31 nett child and RM44 nett senior citizen. All the meals are at the hotel's main dining outlet, Main Street Caf&eaacute;. Reservations: 04 291 1128Details
Eastin Hotel Penang
This year's theme at Eastin Hotel is Sajian Aneka Rasa. Available daily from 7 May till 4 June 2019, it offers an extensive variety of local and international delicacies. Sajian Aneka Rasa is priced at RM120 nett per adult. Senior citizens pay RM70 nett per person while children aged 6 to 11 enjoy a 50% discount from the normal price. Guests can dine in at Swez brasserie for RM88 nett per person for the hotel's first week special from 7 to 12 May, which can be redeemed on the hotel's Facebook Page. Evergreen Laurel Hotel
Throughout the Ramadhan month until 4 June, there will be the Ramadhan & International Buffet Dinner from Sundays to Thursdays, 7:00pm to 10:00pm, priced at RM90 nett adult and RM60 nett child/senior citizen; and the Ramadhan & Seafood/Japanese Buffet Dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, 7:00pm to 10:00pm, priced at RM110 nett adult and RM65 nett child/senior citizen. Selera Kampung is a dinner buffet at Golden Sands Resort by Shangri-La for May 2019. It is held Mondays to Saturdays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The buffet is priced at RM98nett adult and RM49nett child. Hard Rock Hotel
Starting from 6 May until 4 June 2019, Hard Rock Hotel Penang is offering a sumptuous array of dishes at Starz Diner. The theme is Eat, Pray, Rock! It is priced at RM88 nett per adult and RM48 nett per child (6 to 12). On Saturday evenings, the buffet line is combined with the "Seafood on the Rocks" buffet, which serves a variety of Chinese and Japanese items. Wau Ramadhan Buffet is priced at RM140 nett Adult, RM72 nett Child and RM110 nett Senior Citizen (60 years and above). This year's buffet is called Bazaar Ramadhan buffet. It will be available from 6 May until 4 June, 2019, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. The spread is the brainchild of Lexis Suites Penang's executive chef, Johnno Fong and his culinary team. It features over 100 dishes drawing from traditional delights to international flavours. The buffet is priced at RM98nett per adult and RM68nett per child/senior citizen. Olive Tree Hotel
This year's theme is Selera Nusantara. The buffet is held from 13 to 31 May, 2019, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. It is priced at RM99 nett per adult. Diners can enjoy reduced price by planning ahead and pre-purchasing their dinner. Setia SPICE's breaking of fast buffet is called Iftar Ramadhan @ SPICE. It is held from 11 May until 31 May 2019. The buffet is priced at RM99 nett per pax. Sunway Hotel Georgetown Penang & Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya
The Ramadan buffet at Sunway Hotel Georgetown is priced at RM65 nett (adults), and RM45 nett (senior citizens 55 and above, and children 6-12). In-house guests are eligible to a 10% discount while Sunway Pals members are entitled to a 20% discount, and may collect 4 times Pal Points when they flash their card. Khazanah Sajian Nusantara Buffet is the Ramadan buffet at The Light Hotel for 2019. The buffet will be available at Spice Brasserie from 8 May to 4 June, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. It is priced at RM110 nett adult and RM90 nett (child/senior citizen).On the occasion of Ramadan, there is also a Biryani Dome Set, available from 10 May to 2 June, priced at RM50 nett per person, with minimum order of 6 persons.
At Flavours@3, diners may enjoy the Bufet A La Santai. This buffet is available from 10 May until 2 June 2019, 7:00pm to 10:00pm, and is priced at RM88 nett adult and RM68 nett child/senior citizen.
