Lunch at 59 Sixty Restaurant, Komtar (2 August 2016)


59 Sixty is a restaurant on the 59th and 60th floor of Komtar Tower. It is the highest restaurant in Malaysia. From the top, you can get very nice views of Penang Island.

I had lunch here on 2 August, 2016. They have set lunch at RM38 nett, which offers a choice of Fried Kway Teow (what, can't even spell char koay teow the Penang way?), Tangy Tiger Prawn or Azurah's Aromatic Rendang. I chose the rendang. The rendang comes with pickled vegetables and papadam. The set includes a clear vegetable soup, ice cream dessert and a choice of beverage (coffee, tea or soft drink).

The rendang set was nothing to shout about. In particular, it was torpedoed by the rice, which was too dry. The rendang was also lacking gravy, so it felt like eating dry rice. The saving grace to my lunch was the banana split dessert, which is beautifully put together.
