Equatorial Guinea is a small country on the west coast of Central Africa. It covers 28,050 sq km (10,830 sq mi) and has a population of about 680,000 (2011 estimate). Equatorial Guinea is bordered by Cameroon to the north, and Gabon to the east and south. It has a coast facing the Gulf of Guinea to the west.
In continental Africa, Equatorial Guinea is the second smallest member of the United Nations and the third smallest country in terms of population. The official languages here are Spanish and French. About 86% of the population are ethnic Fang people. 93% of the population are Christians.
