Forts and Castles, Volta, Greater Accra, Central and Western Regions is a collective term adopted by in referencing the European-style fortifications and outposts in modern-day Ghana. The term specifically applies to 11 ensembles including the following: The Forts and Castles, Volta, Greater Accra, Central and Western Regions were inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 3rd session of the World Heritage Committee in Cairo and Luxor, on 22-26 October, 1979.
