Oshakati is a small town of about 30,000 people (2011 estimate) in north central Namibia, near the border with Angola. Being the largest town in the area, it serves as the regional capital of Ovamboland.

As with the surrounding region, Oshakati experiences a semi-arid climate with annual rainfall of 472 mm (19 in). Hottest month is October, with average high temperature of 34°C. Coldest month is July, when the average temperature drops to 7°C.
