Beitbridge is a town in southern Zimbabwe, on the border with
South Africa. Beitbridge is in the province of Matabeleland, on the north bank of the Limpopo River, which forms the natural border between the two countries.
Beitbridge today has a population of around 22,000 people (2012 estimate). Being a border town, it is where two main roads meet. The A4 highway connects Beitbridge with Harare 585 km to the northeast while the A5 highway connects it with
Bulawayo 321 km to the northwest.
There isn't much in terms of tourist sights in Beitbridge, if you don't count local infrastructure such as bridges, the most important of which is the Alfred Beit Bridge, built in 1929 and named after the founded of the De Beers diamond mining company.
