Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest, or Hutan Pelajaran Air Hitam Dalam, is a protected marshland in Sungai Dua, Seberang Perai Utara. It was named after the nearby Sungai Air Hitam, a tributary of Sungai Perai.

I visited this area over ten years ago. There were already walkways when I visited, but if I remember correctly, the walkway at that time was wooden. I heard some time back that Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest had closed. I didn't know that it has since reopened, and in fact, had reopened for a number of years.

How to go to the Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest

Exit the North South Expressway at the Sungai Dua Interchange (Exit 165) and head in the direction of Sungai Dua. When you see a mosque (Masjid Al Amin) on your left, take the left turning in the direction of Kepala Batas. Go along this road (State Route P205) until you reach the pekan of Nyior Sebatang. You will notice a signboard for Rekreasi Ayer Hitam Dalam. There is a junction here where you turn right. (See street view below). Go along this road for 880 meters, and you will see the entrance to Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest to your right.
