National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is the premier institution promoting and celebrating the art and artwork of The Bahamas. It is located within the National Art Museum at the junction of West Street and West Hill Street, a short distance from the waterfront. The building, formerly known as Villa Doyle, dates to the 1860s.
The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas carries a wide range of artwork including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, textiles, art from diverse mixed media, photographs and other art objects. It also runs education and public programs to enhance art awareness and appreciation, for both children and adults.
