Algarrobo is a coastal town in San Antonio Province, Valparaíso Region, in Chile. It covers 175.6 sq km (68 sq mi) and has a population of 8,600 people. It is the biggest town along the coast south of Valparaíso, and is a popular family-oriented beach resort.
Perhaps the most famous sight at Algarrobo is the San Alfonso del Mar resort. Completed in December 2006, it has the world's biggest swimming pool. Apart from pool swimming, Algarrobo also has excellent beaches for various watersports such as windsurfing and scuba-diving. You can also go horseback riding on its beaches.
