The Churches of Chiloé are churches that were established by the Jesuit Peripatetic Mission in Chile from the 17th to the 18th centuries. They stand today as an outstanding form of ecclesiastical architecture in this part of Latin America. From these churches, we can see how European culture is merged with indigenous material to fit into the landscape and the environment, while at the same time upholding the spiritual values of the communities.

The Churches of Chiloé were inscribed as World Heritage Sites during the 24th session of the World Heritage Committee which met in Cairns, Australia, from 27 November to 2 December, 2000.
