Colbún is a town in Linares Province, Maule Region, in Central Chile. The district (or commune) covers 2,900 sq km (1,120 sq mi) and has a population of 20,000 people (2012 estimate) while the town itself has a population of about 4,000 people. The town is just 7 km from the geographical center of Chile.
Colbún was established only in 1927. Before that, there was a municipality here called Panimávida established in 1906. The town is today famous for its two well-known spas, the Termas de Quinamávida and Termas de Panimávida. Within the district is also the village of Rari, famous for producing handicraft from horse hair.
