Papudo is a coastal town in Central Chile. Covering 165.5 sq km (65 sq mi), it is located facing the Pacific Ocean in Petorca Province, Valparaíso Region. As with Zapallar and Cachagua, it is a seaside town. However, while the other two are more upscale, Papudo is geared to the middle-income.
The main feature of Papudo is its coastal boulevard which follows the coastline linking its two main beaches, Playa Grande and Playa Chica. There are beach paths running from the beaches to the cliffs which are punctuated by sea caves and caverns. Horse riding is a popular activity on the beach here.

The coastal boulevard is the main street of town. Along this route are the main buildings of Papudo including its church, Iglesia Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, which dates to 1918. A local landmark is the Edificio Recant, a alpine-chalet building facing the coast.
Visiting Papudo
Papudo is 91 km (56 miles) north of Valparaíso. It is reach on the same coastal road, E30-F, which links Valparaíso with other coastal towns such as Cachagua and Zapallar.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
