Santa Cruz is a city in Colchagua Province, in the O'Higgins Region of Central Chile. Covering 419.5 sq km (162 sq mi), it has a population of around 35,000 people (2012 estimate).
It is uncertain when Santa Cruz was first established, though according to official records, it was accorded municipality status in 1891. Being in the Colchagua Province, it is a center for agriculture. The city also produces traditional handicrafts and is famous for the sports of rodeo.
