Ciudad Quesada is a city in the canton of San Carlos, which is within Alajuela province in central Costa Rica. The city itself is also often known simply as San Carlos, just as the canton. It covers 145.31 sq km (56.1 sq mi) and has a population of 40,000 people (2011 estimate).
Ciudad Quesada is 78 km from Alajuela and 97 km from San José. It is a center for ranching and agricultural activities. This is where the farmers come from the surrounding regions to visit workshops for saddles and other goods. The city also has the largest cooperative of dairy farmers in Costa Rica.

- Hot Springs
The hot springs of Ciudad Quesada attract mainly domestic tourists with the occasional visit by foreign tourists.
- Zoológico La Marina
A non-for-profit zoo operated by the Alfaro family on their cattle ranch. It displays some 450 species of animals and birds.
