Gracias is a small town in Honduras. It is located in the mountainous heartland of western Honduras, about 800 meters above sea level. The town has a population of 25,000 people (2011 estimate), and is within the Lempira department.

Gracias was founded in 1536 and has been a farming village for much of its existance. The people here grow a variety of crops for subsistence as well as for export. Among the crops grown here include beans, corn, fruits and vegetables.

Visiting Gracias

There are buses to Gracias from Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Santa Rosa de Copán and La Esperanza.
