Anaheim is a city in Orange County, California. With a population of 354,000 (2011 estimate), it is just slightly less populous than county seat Santa Ana. However, as Anaheim includes the Platinum Triangle, which is the fastest growing neighborhood in Orange County, the population of Anaheim is expected to surpass 400,000 by 2014.
Anaheim was founded in 1870 by a group of German families who called it Annaheim, meaning "home in the valley" in German. Among the Spanish community of the area, it became known as Campon Alemán (German Camp).
The whole knows Anaheim today as the home of Disneyland, the first of the many Disney theme parks. Opening on 18 July, 1955, it was immediately Anaheim's largest tourist attraction. The theme park occupies 160 acres (0.65 sq km) of former orange and walnut plantations.

Since it first opened its doors, Disneyland has expanded a few times, adding new attractions, the newest being Disney California Adventure. Today, the whole expanded area is now known as Disneyland Resort.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
