Located on the Atlantic Coastal Plain, Annapolis experiences a humid subtropical climate. The warmest month here is July, when the average high temperature rises to 90°F (32°C). Coldest month is January, when the average low temperature drops to 31°F (-1°C). September is the wettest month with 4.28 in (108.7 mm) of rainfall.

Annapolis traces its history to 1649, when Puritans ejected from Virginia resettled on the north bank of the Severn River. From there they relocated to the south bank and established the settlement of Town at Proctor's. Over the next few years, the settlement was renamed a number of times, to Town at the Severn and then Anne Arundel's Towne, after the wife of Lord Baltimore, the first proprietor of the Province of Maryland.

In 1694 Anne Arundel's Towne was renamed Annapolis, in honor of Princess Anne of Denmark and Norway, who soon after became Queen Anne of England, Scotland and Ireland (1665-1714, reigned 1702-1707). The city became a temporary capital of the United States in 1783.

Today Annapolis is a small American city with a number of 18th century houses. It faces a number of challenges of the modern age, including traffic congestion.

By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
