Bentonville is a city in the northwestern corner of Arkansas. Covering 21.2 sq mi (55 sq km), it is the county seat of Benton County. The city with a population of 35,000 (2011 estimate) is the 11th biggest city in Arkansas. It is located at an elevation of 1,296 ft (395 m). Bentonville observes the Central Standard Time, which is six hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-6) and five hours behind during Daylight Saving Time in summer. The phone area code here is 479.
Bentonville is renowned as the headquarters of Wal-Mart Stores, the largest employer in the United States and the biggest retailer in the world. It is where Wat-Mart was founded, and is home to Jim Walton, the son to the founder of Wal-Mart, and 20th richest man in the world.
