Bowling Green is the third most populous city in Kentucky, and the biggest city with the name Bowling Green in the United States. It covers 35.6 sq mi (92.1 sq km) and has a population of 58,000 people (2011 estimate).

Bowling Green is the county seat of Warren County. The city was founded in 1798 and served as the provisional capital of the Confederate government of Kentucky. It experiences a humid subtropical climate. Warmest month is July, when the average high temperature rises to 89°F (32°C). Coldest month is January, when the average low temperature drops to 25°F (-4°C). Bowling Green gets the most rain in May, at 5.36 in (136 mm).
Bowling Green is the home of the Chevrolet Corvette assembly plant. It also has a National Corvette Museum since 1994.

Interstate 65 is the main highway connecting Bowling Green with the rest of the country, with Louisville to the north and Nashville to the south.
