Colchester is the second largest city in Vermont. It is located in Chittenden County to the north of Burlington. Colchester covers 58.6 sq mi (151.9 sq km) and has a population of 17,000 people.
The city of Colchester was founded in 1763. It is located on the south side of Malletts Bay. In 1922, Winooski broke away to become a separate city.
