Cookeville is a small city in Putnam County, in central northern Tennessee. It covers 22 sq mi (57 sq km) and has a populaton of 30,000 people (2011 estimate). It has a micropolitan area (small towns with forming an economic hub for the surrounding area) with a population of 106,000 people. The city is best known as the home of Tennessee Technological University.
