Disneyland is a famous theme park in Anaheim, California. It is one of the theme parks operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The park was the brainchild of the late American entrepreneur Walt Disney, who wanted a park to entertain people, in a grander scale than the theme parks he visited with his daughters in the 1930s and 40s.
Disneyland opened to the public on 18 July, 1955 with 20 attractions. Since then, the park has undergone numerous expansions, adding theme pavilions related to various Hollywood movies, particularly Disney animated ones. The public area of Disneyland covers 85 acres (34 hectares).
When it opened, Disneyland had five theme precincts namely Main Street USA, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland. Since then, new precincts have been added, among them Holidayland (1957), New Orleans Square (1966), Bear Country (1972), Mickey's Toontown (1993).
The transportation at Disneyland is in itself a tourist attraction. They include the Disneyland Railway, the Disneyland Monorail and the Main Street vehicles, including a double-decker bus and a horse-drawn streetcar, among others.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
