Kansas City is a city in Wyandotte County, Kansas. It is the same name as Kansas City across the border in Missouri. Kansas City in Kansas is the smaller of the two. its population is about 146,000 (2011 estimate). To differentiate between the two cities, Kansas City, Kansas, is often abbreviated as KCK whereas Kansas City, Missouri, is KCMO.

If you are driving in, Interstate 70 passes through Kansas City, Kansas, from east to west, linking it with Denver to the west, and with Kansas City, Missouri, St Louis and Indianapolis to the east. Interstate 35 connects it with Des Moines to the north, and Wichita and Oklahoma City to the south.
