Rockville is a city and county seat of Montgomery County, Maryland. It covers 14.2 sq mi (34.8 sq km) and has a population of 62,000 people (2011 estimate). Rockville is the second largest city in Maryland. The city is within the Interstate 270 Technology Corridor, an area with a high concentration of high-tech companies.

The area round Rockville was first settled in 1717 when land patents were obtained by one Arthur Nelson. The town itself was officially founded in 1803 with its name believed to have been derived from Rock Creek.

Take the Washington Metro Red Line to reach Rockville. The city is 12 miles northwest of Washington DC. If coming by car, take the I-270 out of Washington DC.
