South Burlington is a small city in Chittenden County, in western Vermont. It forms a metropolitan area with Burlington. Covering 29.6 sq mi (76.7 sq km), it has a population of 18,000 people (2011 estimate).
South Burlington is in fact to the east of Burlington. The history of South Burlington follows that of Burlington until it was separated and incorporated as a city in 1971. It is to the south side of the Burlington International Airport.
