BJ Court, PenangBJ Court, Penang (26 December 2019)

BJ Court (GPS: 5.33397, 100.29196), or Bukit Jambul Court, is a single block of 36-storey apartment in Bukit Jambul, Penang. It was completed in 1998. Standing at a height of 129.02 meters, it was the tallest building on the southern half of Penang Island at the time of its completion. It is located adjacent to Bukit Jambul Complex shopping mall. Each 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment has a size of 750 sqft (or 700 sqft of built-up area).

What I like about BJ Court is the panoramic view. What I don't like about it is the high density and congestion.

Facilities at BJ Court

Facilities include security services, covering parking, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, squash court and gymnasium.

Location of BJ Court

BJ Court is 13.7 km from Komtar making it quite a distance from the city centre. However, using the coastal expressway, you can easily make the distance speedily. It is ideal for people working in the Bayan Lepas area. It's location next to Bukit Jambul Complex also mean it is easy to get food and shopping. However, the location will be noisy every night. BJ Court is also 5.9 km to the Penang Bridge, 7.1 km to the Second Penang Bridge and 7.1 km to the Penang International Airport.

Public Transport at BJ Court

BJ Court is located a short walking distance from the Bukit Jambul Bus Stop, one of the major hubs. Among the bus routes through this bus stop include Rapid Penang Bus 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308 and 704. You can also catch a taxi at the taxi stand next to the bus stop.

The nearest schools from BJ Court include Kwang Hwa Primary School, Shih Chung (Primary) Branch School and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Nibong. Nearby schools include Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Phor Tay and Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Keong Hoe in Sungai Dua. The Lip Sin Market and Super Tanker Market are two nearby markets. As mentioned, Bukit Jambul Complex is adjacent to BJ Court. Queensbay Mall and Sunshine Square are a short distance away. Petrol stations near BJ Court include the Esso next to Bukit Jambul Complex, and the Caltex and the two Shell stations near the Bayan Baru Roundabout. The nearest hospital is Pantai Hospital in Bayan Baru.

Traffic situation at BJ Court

Traffic is heavy along Jalan Tun Dr Awang in front of BJ Court. Motorists parking their vehicles haphazardly in front of Bukit Jambul Complex cause congestion along Jalan Rumbia.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
