Details
Afghanistan ratified the World Heritage Convention on 20 March, 1979. As of August 2010, it has two properties inscribed as World Heritage Sites. Both are cultural sites, and unfortunately, both are on the List of World Heritage in danger. The country also has another 4 properties submitted on the World Heritage Tentative List:
- City of Herat (2004)
- City of Balkh (antique Bactria) (2004)
- Band-E-Amir (2004)
- Bagh-e Babur (2009)
