Useful Information for taking the GoKL Free Bus
GoKL is a free bus service in the city of
Kuala Lumpur. It is the initiative of the Land Public Transport Commission (Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat, SPAD) and launched on 31 August, 2012, to supplement the existing bus services provided by RapidKL and Metrobus.
Presently, there are four GoKL bus loop lines, the
Green Line from KLCC to Bukit Bintang loop,
Purple Line from Pasar Seni to Bukit Bintang loop, the
Red Line from KL Sentral to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman loop and the
Blue Line from Medan MARA to Bukit Bintang loop. Of the four routes, three of them form loops around the Pavilion Shopping Centre while pass the Titiwangsa LRT/Monorail Station.
The GoKL bus service starts at 6:00 am in the morning and ends at 11:00 pm on all days except Friday and Saturday nights, when the service is extended to 1:00 am of the following morning. The buses are equipped with wifi and are disabled friendly.
The following routes are approximates based on available information, and may be updated from time to time.
Route of the Green Line
The Green Line covers the area around
KLCC. It makes a loop beginning with
KLCC, then continues to Angkasaraya,
MaTIC,
Concorde Hotel,
Life Centre,
Pavilion,
Starhill Gallery,
Bukit Bintang,
Menara KH,
Wisma Rohas Perkasa,
Grand Hyatt,
KL Convention Centre,
Citibank,
Menara Atlan, and back to
KLCC.
Route of the Purple Line
The Purple Line covers the city centre between Pasar Seni and Pavilion. Beginning from
Pasar Seni, it continues to Bangkok Bank, Alliance Bank, Muzium Telekom,
KL Tower, The Weld, Wisma Lim Foo Yong,
Pavilion, Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang, Wisma Boustead, Wisma MPL, Bukit Ceylon, St Andrew's Church, Maybank Building and Kota Raya before returning to Pasar Seni.
Route of the Red Line
The Red Line is the longest of the four routes. It starts at the
Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, then continues to
KL Sentral, 1 Sentral,
Muzium Negara,
Masjid Negara,
Dataran Merdeka, Menara DBKL, Medan MARA, Puteri Park,
Chow Kit,
Grand Seasons Hotel,
Titiwangsa LRT/
Monorail Station, Hospital Damai,
Chow Kit Monorail Station, Sri Amar, Pertama Complex, Globe Silk Store,
Coliseum, Dataran Merdeka and
Dayabumi Complex before returning to the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.
Route of the Blue Line
The Blue Route forms a loop beginning from the
Titiwangsa LRT/
Monorail Station to Pavilion Shopping Centre. Along the way, it passes through the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital, Institut Penyelidikan Perubatan, Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas,
Concorde Hotel, Life Centre,
Pavilion, Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang, Wisma Boustead, Menara Hap Seng, Bukit Nanas,
Dang Wangi LRT Station, Menara AIA, Munshi Abdullah, Medan MARA, Puteri Park,
Chow Kit,
Grand Seasons Hotel and back to the Titiwangsa LRT/Monorail Station.
