At time of writing (Feb 2016), the industrial park is still being developed, with large tracts of undeveloped land that will one day sprout new industrial plants. So far, among the companies that have set up plants at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park include Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd, Bose Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd (now known as Flex Ltd), Haemonetics Malaysia Sdn Bhd, HP Malaysia, Malaysian Automotive Lighting Sdn Bhd, One Auto Hub, SanDisk, Seagate Batu Kawan and Segmental Box Girder casting yard.
When this write-up was revised in June 2019, among the plants that have been added to Batu Kawan Industrial Park include Inari, ViTrox, Boston Scientific Medical Devices, Hotoyi, TT Business Capital, Foong Chi, VAT, The 12 Waves and The Ship Campus.

Haemonetics Corporation specializes in blood management solutions. It sets up its plant at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park with an investment of over RM100million, as stated in The Star on 12 February, 2015. The plant occupies a 243,000 sqft plot on Persiaran Cassia Selatan 1.

After exiting Penang some years back, Hewlett-Packard returned in 2014 to invest RM1 billion in building its new plant at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park. Accordig to The Star (9 Oct 2014), the plant will produce integrated circuit die for high-speed inkjet printers.

The 12 Waves is a warehouse belonging to PKT Logistics Group. With a floor area of 645,640 sqft, it is the largest single storey warehouse in Malaysia. The 12 Waves was officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, the Right Honourable Chow Kon Yeow on 18 August, 2018. This warehouse serves in particular the automotive manufacturing industry for Mazda, BMW, Peugeot, Kia and Hyundai.
Located within the 12 Waves complex is The Ship Campus, a college offering various tertiary education courses.
