Bibik's Kitchen offers a lunch set on week days comprising a main dish with vegetable, white rice and a dessert or Nyonya kuih. Diners may also opt to order à la carte, which offers a full repertoire of Nyonya dishes, particularly the Penang version, including the Tau Ewe Bak, Assam Pedas, Kiam Hu Kut Curry, Jiu Hu Char, and Nyonya Laksa Lemak, to name a few. There are also Malacca Peranakan dishes such as Ayam Pongteh.

Visit to Bibik's Kitchen

On 14 April, 2018, my wife and I had the pleasure of a meal at Bibik's Kitchen. We were there at the invitation of Girlie Chua, the friendly proprietor of the restaurant. Our meal included Assam Pedas, Chicken Rendang, Nyonya Laksa Lemak, Kerabu Assam Laksa, Assam Prawn, Cincalok and Jiu Hu Char. The rice served to us was a four-colour rice comprising white rice, bunga telang rice, pandan rice and lemongrass rice.

We spent a lot of time taking photos of the food, so much so that by the time we started eating, most of the dishes were cold and the rice has dried up somewhat (that's the bane of being a blogger, we spend so much time taking photos to show you what we ate!) Nonetheless, they are still tasty, and stand as a showcase of a personal interpretation of authentic Nyonya cooking.

My wife and I enjoyed our meal at Bibik's Kitchen very much, and we do look forward to coming back soon.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
