Muzium Wau Kelantan (GPS: 6.21568, 102.12655) adalah sebuah muzium yang meraikan wau tradisional Kelantan. It is located at Pantai Sri Tujuh in Tumpat, Kelantan. Although I went all the way to the museum, I did not go in, because I saw that there is entrance fees, and judging from what I could see from the outside, that it is quite a small museum with limited space, I did not feel justified to pay for an entrance into it. There are other museums in Malaysia that features the local kite, for example, the Kite Museum in Pasir Gudang which is bigger.
Adjacent to the Muzium Wau Kelantan is a handicraft shop. It is called Galeri Kraf, and sells all sorts of local crafts. Next to the museum is a shed where there were a few traditional fishing boats. I am not sure how boats got added to a museum celebrating kites, but I support they were trying to create a one-stop museum for Kelantan handicraft.
Opening Hours
The Muzium Wau Kelantan is open Saturdays to Wednesdays from 8:30am to 4:45pm, and on Thursdays from 8:30am to 3:30pm. It is closed on Fridays.
