Boulder Valley Glamping Site & Event Place (10 December 2018)
Boulder Valley Glamping Site (GPS: 5.41498, 100.21469) is an upscale camping resort in Teluk Bahang, Penang. Occupying a 24-acre site, Boulder Valley was constructed at a cost of RM25 million. It is the first phase of a 3-phase ecotourism precinct, of which the second and third phases are in the pipeline.
Boulder Valley brings the luxurious urban comforts into the tropical rainforest. Its unique feature are the huge boulders that are naturally found at the site. These huge boulders are often stacked atop one another, looking from afar like oversized pebbles. This is possibly the largest concentration of boulders on Penang Island.
Among the facilities at Boulder Valley Glamping Site include a swimming pool, an indoor events space in the form of a Giant Chapel Glasshouse and an outdoor events space with a Giant Fan. In addition to the natural flora of the site, Boulder Valley is also landscaped with giant ferns and elephant ears (Colocasia, from the taro family).
There is a total of 25 accommodation units at Boulder Valley. They include three 2-person Safari Tents, seven 4-person Safari Tents, five 2-person Tented Villa, eight 4-person Tented Villa and two 6-person Tented Villa.

My wife and I made a visit to Boulder Valley Glamping Site on 10 December, 2018. We were guests of the resort. On arrival, we were met by Miss Nina Lee, on behalf of the Board of Directors. We were joined by two other members of a Chinese daily, and a few friends of Nina's. After having a nice lunch of pizza, roast chicken and cakes, we were taken around to view the safari tents and villas as well as the swimming pool.

After our lunch, Nina took us all for a walk to sightsee the place. Without doubt, the most interesting highlight of the site are the natural boulders.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
