The
Penang Golf Club, formerly
Bukit Jambul Country Club, is a golf course on Penang Island. It is located on the slopes of
Bukit Jambul, just below Hotel Equatorial.
Penang Golf Club opened in 1984, around the same time as
Hotel Equatorial, to provide recreation for the newly developing township of Bayan Baru. The golf course at the Penang Golf Club was designed by golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is a 18 hole 5763 meter par 72 course.

Ordinary transferable membership at the country club is RM50,000 nett, with a monthly subscription of RM90.30 nett, spouse subscription of RM48.30 nett and children (between
12 to 21) subscription of RM13.97 nett. Privileges include complimentary green fees all day, and entrance to sports and recreational facilities.
Social memberships, without green privileges, are also available at RM15,000 nett with subscription of RM63.30 nett. Expatriate transferable membership is RM75,000 nett, with complimentary green privileges, and monthly subscription of RM90.30 nett.
Updates
23 October 2010: The Bukit Jambul Country Club was renamed the Penang Golf Club following the outsourcing of its management and operations to Japanese investor company Taiyo Resort (KL) Bhd. The change of name is said to help in the branding as the name Penang is well known internationally.
