Prasat Chan Ta Uon (GPS: 13.46032, 103.8414) is one of the lesser-known temple ruins of Angkor. This temple is located to the northwest of the moat of
Angkor Thom. It used to have a moat of its own which has since largely dried up. As with many other Angkor monuments, it also has a laterite wall punctuated by gates on the east-west axis. Being once a Hindu temple during Angkorian times, Prasat Chan Ta Uon has a outer porch or
mandapa facing east.
Prasat Chan Ta Uon, also spelled
Prasat Chan Ta Oun, is also often called
Prasat Prei Prasat, a rather awkward name that causes confusion with the other
Prasat Prei. The Angkor pass is not required for visiting this Angkor ruin.
